Grassland Restoration Learnshop

Join restoration experts from The Nature Conservancy’s Oak Openings Office and other local conservation partners as they guide us through the restoration process. This event is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required. Please dress to be outdoors. See below for event details.

  • Overview of grassland communities and benefits (e.g. Oak Openings, wet prairie, etc.)
  • Identify habitat potential and restoration needs – augmenting existing habitat vs. initial establishment
  • Implementation methods – prescribed burning, mowing, chemical, and mechanical control
  • Maintenance and invasive species management
  • Tour of FCA Dundee Engine Plant grassland restoration areas
