Celebrate Conservation Week with a farm tour of Gordon’s Produce to learn about chemical-free growing practices and conservation programs in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Tour topics will include growing season extension, clever techniques for chemical-free gardening, natural resource conservation, and environmental risk reduction. The Gordon’s will share their experience working with the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program to become environmentally verified in the Farmstead and Cropping Systems, as well as their experience applying for a Hoop House through NRCS. This event is in partnership with Gordon’s Produce, the Chippewa, Luce, Mackinac Conservation District, and Natural Resource Conservation Services.
