Marsh Haven Farms has been following mostly organic production practices for 30 years and produces hay, corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, rye, vegetables, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and eggs on about 90 acres. “Everything is sold within a 60 mile radius”
Agenda: Speakers are Rob Malcomnson, farm operator at Marsh Haven Farms and Lapeer/Macomb County MAEAP Technician, Phil Kaatz, MSU Extension Educator, and Kendrick Flowers, USDA – NRCS District Conservationist
4pm – Orientation. Please be punctual.
4:15 Walking Tour. Topics include multi-species grazing system, wetland protection, NRCS cost share opportunities, hoophouse vegetable production, manure management, general nutrient management, and how the farm got verified in the MAEAP.
6:15 Suppertime. Most food is sourced fresh from the farm.
A special note regarding COVD-19 requirements: To host the 2020 Tour, changes have been made to maintain proper social distancing requirements (i.e. limited registration of guests, extra sanitation, the entire event will be outdoors.). Those attending the field day and entering Marsh Haven Farms will do so at their own risk, voiding attendees claim to liability.
